Information for games at Chelmsford
Riverside Ice and Leisure, Victoria Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1FG. 01245 615050.
It usually takes about two hours to get to Chelmsford from Streatham.
You drive out of London on the A12, joining after the Rotherhithe tunnel, the South Circular or the M25 as it suits you. Eventually the A414 turns off for Chelmsford. After a few miles you come to the pair of roundabouts shown at the bottom of the map (see the button above). You should be able to get there using the map and looking for signs to "Leisure Centre" or the brown ice skate sign.
The leisure centre has a .pdf document that gives directions but I found it very hard to follow. You can download it here. The directions on the road are different to those given out by the Leisure Centre itself. The map you get by clicking the button above has the Leisure Centre's directions marked on it, but the signposted way is different. When driving you get directed right at the first roundabout on Parkway into High Bridge Road. That works fine as long as you get the right turning at the next roundabout into Springfield Road (that's where we got lost last visit).
There's plenty of parking but you have to pay.
Peckish afterwards? There's a cafe under the rink and a McDonalds over the road.
