Ice Hockey at Streatham
Ice hockey at Streatham comprises the following teams: Senior (Division 1) - The Redskins; Senior (Division 2) - The Bruins; Women - Streatham Storm; Youth (10s,12s,14s,16s); Special Needs - Werewolves of London; and two recreational teams - The Chiefs and the Night-Wolves. They all play at
Streatham Ice Arena.
A little history.
Streatham is one of Britain's
oldest ice hockey clubs, famous for the Streatham Redskins team which used to play to big crowds in the senior leagues. It all began when a group of Canadian expatriates started a club and won the English National League in 1934/5. Streatham was among the top teams in the country in the 1950's and again in the 1980's when the Redskins, under the guidance of Alec Goldstone, won a clutch of trophies including the English National League in 1981/2. Sadly the Redskins broke up in the mid-nineties but, with a change of management at the rink, they were reformed in 2003. We now have two
English National Ice Hockey League teams, two
Women's teams, four junior teams and two rec teams (
the Chiefs and the
Night-Wolves) to keep up the tradition in South London.

English Ice Hockey Association. We have a team of EIHA accredited coaches supervising training sessions and leading teams at matches. Training sessions are on Mondays at 5pm (U-10 and U-12), 6pm (U-14) and 7pm (U-16) and 8pm (U-18). Home matches are held on Saturdays and Sundays. The
Club's code of conduct is here.
