Campaign for Real Ale – North West Essex Branch
Press Release 21 May 09

The White Horse, Ridgewell, has been voted 2009 Pub of the Year by members of CAMRA North West Essex. This is the third time the White Horse has won this prestigious award (previously in 2006, when it then went forward to win best in the whole of Essex & again in 2007).

Tom Bogie, Chair of North West Essex CAMRA said “the selection of the North West Essex Pub of the Year is always a difficult choice, given the number of excellent pubs in our area, but The White Horse was chosen for the consistent quality of its beer, its wide choice of ales, which always includes a mild, its commitment to real cider, its summer and winter beer festivals and overall excellence”.

Robin Briggs, landlord of the White Horse, said that he was “delighted to have won the award again and that being in the Good Beer Guide brought many visitors to this traditional Essex village”.
