Liden Lagoon was dug during the 1960s and is home to a
range of wildlife.
It is situated next to the A419 and GW Hospital, yet is
unspoilt by these busy surroundings.
It is a really beautiful and relaxing place in
Swindon
to spend time at.

The
official entrance has a monumental stone entitled “Country Seats Telling
Tales” and is engraved with
a
map of the lagoon, “Liden Lagoon” on its top, and “Country Seats Telling
Tales” on its sides.
Visitors
can sit on one of the many engraved benches around the lagoon.
These have cryptic messages etched into them,
and a couple have been dedicated to departed but not forgotten local
residents.

There are “pegs” (platforms) for fishing
from, and some of these are disability friendly.
Provided also are 2 Life Belts and dog waste bins.

The wildlife varies from Heron's, Swan's, Duck's,
Sea-gull's, Coot's & Geese families,
through to fish, mice, dragon-flies
to name just a few
and a huge turtle which sun-bathes on the rocks.

We know you will enjoy a visit to the lake, and also
hope you enjoy this site too.
