We are going back to Kenya 2012

A great start to 2012 when NursePlus UK very generously offered to sponser three Swim-tech members for the 2012 European Triathlon Championships due to be held in Israel in April.

Head coach Graham said “It was fantastic for the financial help given to our members but also NursePlus have exactly the same outlook on being a caring professional  body that we at Swim-tech subscribe to”

He added that “all we need now is for the mild winter to carry on allowing us precious training time before the heat of Israel”.

Jill and Mark Win Age Group BTF titles 2012

Jill Cliff won her triple 2012 age group title at the Big Cow British triathlon middle distance triathlon. Jill in the previous weeks had also claimed the sprint and standard distance titles.

It is quite unusual for one athlete to win all three. Jill has worked exceptionally hard over the winter on her swim at the swim-tech sessions. These have assisted her in not only setting PB’s but being stronger and quicker into her bike leg.

After what seemed like a puncture a race season Mark Whittaker finally got the no puncture luck he deserved and won his age group at the same middle distance championship. Not only did he win the age group but also came 3rd overhaul. Again Mark set a PB in the swim. Mark said”After what can only be described as testing swim-tech swim sessions, the race was quite easy”

Team Swim-tech are retuning to Mombasa to run their second swim school for the children of the Mikoroshoni primary school.

We will be teaching water awareness, water safety and basic swimming all in a fun progressive way. The children come from a poor area of Mombasa and this will be their first encounter with swimming.

We would like to thank all the triathletes ,swimmers  and friends who have come forward with sponsorship. Without them the teaching would not be possible.

All costs to get and stay in Kenya are paid by the swim-tech teaching  team members. The cost of running the school is met by sponsorship.
