1st Winter Male Baltimore Oriole at Headington, Oxon. The pictures were taken on December 21, 2003 which was my third visit to the site. My first attempt was on the afternoon of the 15th but I failed to see the bird as it had flown of strongly south west soon after news was released. The following morning I was in Cornwall when I heard that the Oriole was still present. That afternoon, the 16th, I had a few brief views of the bird, the large crowd and difficult viewing situation made things very difficult. Much better views were had on the 21st with residents allowing access to the gardens and the bird also showing on an apple tree viewable from a playing field.
