Dance Review 2006.

These dances are just my personal choice, some I've done, some I have seen, some old, some new and some I have put on just because I love the music. I will add dances frequently ( I hope) so visit often, you never know what you might find here, even some oldies which we really like and have revived them!.

January 2006

Most of these dance steps can be found on my step sheet pages, also you might find a clip of the music on my Jukebox page, don't forget if you would like to hear a clip from some of the older Jukebox clips I have, I can email them to you, no problem!

Sorry folks for not updating the website these last few months but I have been busy with my new business venture, but hopefully I am back on track and can keep this website updated more frequently now.

Just to play catch up , a quite run through the last few dances we have done.....

When Your Around  Lovely little dance from Dee Musk, flows nice, has a couple of little tags , 40 count  4 wall done to Westlife.

If That's Love  Took us a while to latch on to this one, kept seeing it danced  and liked it more each time certainly  one that grows on you! Choreographer.... the great mister Neville Fitzgerald himself ( I only put that because I know he reads this page ) lol. 32 count 4 wall Int dance with one little tag just a couple of sways, the music is by Laura pausini. It's in out top ten.

Sinfull a Rob Fowler dance..........a little bit disappointed with it, not  much to it really! a few turns at the end can make you a bit dizzy but you can always take one out. We like the track so will still dance it. 32 count 4 wall Int/ not tags or anything choreographed to Madonna - Like It Or Not.

The Reel Thing Absolutely love this dance!! great track from Westlife and the dance fits the music a treat. Maggie at her best with this one I think, 32 count 4 wall Advanced ( that's what it say's on the step sheet) don't think it's that hard but you do have to have your wits about you remembering the tags as they are the same as the first bit of the dance! you do tend to forget where you are ......well I do anyway :)2 tags on walls 1 & 5...well worth a go!!.

Heartbreaker -  Little bit disappointed with this one, I thought the track deserved something a bit more special really, but nether the less its a good dance for everyone and I am sure it will be a floor filler . 64 count 4 wall with one restart on the first wall. Might get my dreadlocks and dark glasses out for this one lol.

Buttons - Dan McInery. We really like this one, gone straight into out top ten. Great track from Pussycat Dolls has a Indian feel to it.....love it!Dance is very good and fits the music a treat. 32 count 4 wall Int with no tags or restarts, hope this one takes off around our area.

I am Afraid. New one from Neville Fitzgerald, 21 count 2 wall Int/ with 2 small tags easy peasy. I like the dance but not over keen on the music really ....Kelly Clarkson. If you like the track you will like the dance.

It's Up To You - Kim Ray. A nice easy little dance from Kim Ray, gives the old brain cells a rest and lets you just listen to the music and enjoy  the dance without being boring, no tags or restarts, flows very well to the music. Only 32 count 2 wall choreographed to It's Up To You  by Barbara Streisand.

One With The Night - Lady In Black. Another Barbara Streisand track for this dance , a bit more intricate this one with 2 restarts, some nice little touches in this dance.... as you would expect from the Lady In Black. I did not get up to learn this first of all but after seeing it danced  thought it looked really good so I had to do it. Can recommend this one!

Kiss And Make Up - Maggie G. I really like this dance, suitable for all levels of dancer. Reasons for learning (said with tongue in cheek) No tags or restarts, only 32 counts, 4 wall with a nice latiny/irish feel ( if that makes sense) lol. and mostly because I liked it!!

Simplemente( aka - Heaven Sent) - Kate Sala. Love the new track she has chosen to use to rivive  this dance. We learnt Heaven sent years ago and liked it then, it's even better now. Only 32 count  4 wall , not tags or restarts. The music Kate is using now is Simplemente by Chayanne, excellent track, one everyone can dance too.

Thats' all the Easy Stuff...........now for the more difficult stuff!!

Fool No More - A&S. On very rare occasions do I do a Waltz, but this is one of them. Lovely track by Charlotte Church. Int/Adv.... 2 wall with 2 restarts and 1 tag. I do like Waltz's that are not all twinkles!! very well choreographed by A&S.The restarts take a bit of getting used too but after you have mastered the dance and you can listen to the music you will know when they happen, and the music does seems to go out a little towards the end, which does throw you a little untill you get used to it. Fairly difficult but well worth the effort.

Now for A few Funky Dances

Just For Tonight - Larry & Tracey Harman. We did this one a few weeks ago , learnt it from the step sheet and frankly we did have a laugh, as our interpretations of the dance left a lot to be desired lol. 32 count with a 16 bridge which is done twice, well the second time you do the bridge you only do the first 8 counts, quite boring really. The music good though! choreographed to One Night Stand by J.C. Chasez. We didn't bother with it anymore but we saw Frankie Cull dance this at T&V's on Saturday and he made it look quite good, so me might give it another bash, but I don't suppose we will look as good as him doing it..............second thoughts!! do we really wanna look like him lol.

Beep - Neville Fizgerald. This guy picks some great tracks for his dances, this is no exception!. The track is by  The Pussycat dolls, 32 count 4 wall with 4 tags and 1 restarts, the tags are easy and quite noticeable, the restart I completely forgot the first few times ( doesn't everyone)??? Watch out for his new one to Gnarl Barkley!!

Geek In The Pink - Johanna Barnes. We just love this one, our fav at the moment!!.....32 count 4 wall  with one restart. The music is by Jason Mraz excellent Track!. There is a video clip of Johanna dancing this, you must see it...... she does it great, love the ankle breakers. Optional attire when doing this dance are Nerd spec's and pink boa's.

Scream - Kate Sala. Kate Sala seems to be on a roll lately with her dances, this is another one we just learnt last night ( Jan's front room) , a track from Chica  ( same album as Helen D'Aguiar's Latin Flavour ) A Funky  32 count 4 wall Int/Adv  Choreographed to Make You Dance. We found the last 8 counts  quite difficult ( ah bless we are getting old) Triple Full Turn & ¼ L, Weave R, Cross, Full Unwind R, Kick, Jump Apart, Elbow Jab.  and it's quite fast! we kept loosing our balance so we decided to do a shuffle 1/4 turn instead which we found better. This is another one we saw the new slim line Frankie Cull do on Saturday.........hey we could hire him out!

Might get to do M.T.Grooves Explicit next week, great funky track!
