Dance Review 2005. These dances are just my personal choice, some I've done, some I have seen, some old, some new and some I have put on just because I love the music. I will add dances frequently ( I hope) so visit often, you never know what you might find here, even some oldies which we really like and have revived them!. January 2005 Most of these dance steps can be found on my step sheet pages, also you might find a clip of the music on my Jukebox page, don't forget if you would like to hear a clip from some of the older Jukebox clips I have, I can email them to you, no problem! Dance All Night Choreographed by Roy Hadisubruto. This is the first dance of the new year for me, a funky little 32 count linedance with no tags, bridges or restarts. On the step sheet the category is down as Novice, but it was taught to all levels and everyone enjoyed it. You can give this dance some real attitude with some funny little hand shakin and shoulder pushing which I did on the third time of dancing it, which left the the back row falling about laughing ( I don't know why) Great track by Janet Jackson. Dov'e L'Amore New one from Andrew, Simon & Sheila. I like this one......excellent dance, nice combination of steps which you would associate with an A&S dance. Done to this great track from Cher. We did learn a dance to this track about 3 or 4 years ago can't remember who's dance it was but we found it difficult then, the track A&S have used is a tadge slower so make sure you use the right version.32 count 2 wall and has an added 2 counts and restart on wall 3, and restart on wall 6.Got the thumbs up from all of us. Don't Walk Another good dance from Neville Fitzgerald. Nothing to difficult with this latest one . I really like it, it's one you can enjoy dancing instead of worrying which bit of the dance you are on ie A B Tag which wall you should be facing etc. I like the turn back cross unwind bit, and you can make it a bit funky if you want to. Only 32 count 4 wall no restarts or tags, a dance for everyone to enjoy. Great Javine track too!! One of my fav's at the moment. French Kissing Nice little funky dance from Larry Hayden only 32 count with no tags or restarts. I wasn't sure about this dance at first, some of the steps felt a bit strange especially when the end meets the start of the next wall I kept on wanting to do others things lol, but after dancing it a couple of times it grew on me. Nothing too difficult, good track by Sarah Connor called French Kissing. Worth a look this one. Cheeter By M.I.L. This is a real funky dance!! Choreographed to Michael Jacksons Cheater. Very busy dance but has no tags or restarts, bit of a left leg killer though I found! perhaps my o'l bones cant take it lol. Goes very well to the music and is the usual high standard you get from M.I.L. Under Your Spell What a lovely dance!! yes that's me saying that about a WALTZ. The music is a gorgeous track by Ana Victoria and really flowes luverly. Apparently there is a US version and a UK version obviously we are doing the UK version <grin> which has 1 tag. 48 count 2 wall dance and after the tag you change to dance the other two walls. the usual twinkles with a nice section in the middle .Best waltz since Ruthie B's "Real World" IMHO. Cradle Lovely new one from Mark & Jan Caley. 32 count 4 wall easy Intermediate with no tags or restarts. Fits very well to the music though there are 2 beats about half way through the dance that sounds as there could be a restart but just dance through it. Lovely dance for all level which is nice. Choreographed to "Cradle" by Atomic Kitten, can see this one being very popular. Shake Yourself Loose We did have a laugh doing this one.64 count4 wall Intermediate dance by Kathy Hunyadi. Music is a gospel track by Vickie Winans, could be Cece's sister!. It's quite funky , no body rolls or anything like that, just a few arm swings so suitable for all ages not just the young ones that can actually DO body rolls lol. The more we did it the better it got. We enjoyed dancing this one. Tic Toc Too Neville Fitzgerald's new one to "What You Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani.64 count 4 wall Intermediate dance with 1 easy tag then restart. We really liked the steps to this dance, good variation, and you need your brain cells working ( well I did anyway) it's fast too!! We must have danced it through twice before we all got a wall right lol. Nev asked me to give an HONEST opinion of this dance so here goes Nev.....Loved the dance! great combination of steps, the music is ok nothing outstanding, I think the dance deserves a better track, but saying that I think it will be a floor filler. Funky Fresh Great little funky dance from JP Potter. Only 32 count 4 wall with one easy tag. This dance defiantly got the thumbs up from us even after doing the first wall!! It's funky but stylish if you know what I mean. Choreographed to One Two Step by Ciara feat Missy Elliott, great track, we did do another dance to this track as we liked it so much but we didn't like the dance, this one fits perfect. Click here to see a movie clip of the dance.Update can split the floor with MJ Moves we tried it Sat night, goes great to the Drizabone track. Out Of Bounds Karen Hunn's latest dance choreographed to Prohibida by Raul. 52 count 4 wall Intermediate , no tags or restarts. I wasn't going to bother learning this one as the music sounds like the usual run of the mill spanish stuff, but decided to give it a go ( picky arn't I) and found I quite enjoyed it .Made a change from all the funky stuff we have been learning lately, it's the sort of dance that will keep the floor filled at a social, a bit like the old days, grapvines, jazz boxes, shuffles etc. Opposites Attract ....Another one from A&S, 32 count 4 wall Intermediate with 1 restart. We really liked the dance, nice bit of choreography, we also liked the music ( Opposites Attract by Paula Abdul) but... we found it a bit rushed! ( perhaps we are getting slow in our old age) it didn't feel comfortable, didn't flow to well for us. Perhaps we need to do it a few more times to get the feel of it, shame because I did like the dance. Keep It Burnin' - Craig Bennett & John Robinson.4 wall 32 count Intermediate dance , no tags or restarts. A Great track called Keep The Fire Burning from the new Beverley Knight album "Affirmation". Nothing to hard, nice combination of steps that fitted well to the music ,slightly funky I would say but nothing us olden's can't handle:) it got the thumbs up from us!!. Stop Calling Me - Richard Dawkings, Jackie Towler & Rachel Griffiths.64 count 2 wall Intermediate dance choreographed to Stop Calling Me by Shakaya. Can't quite make my mind up about this dance at the moment! might have to do it a few times to get the feel of it. Quite funky, with some different combination of steps, we have only done it in the kitchen so far, so it might be better on a proper dance floor .I do like the track. Intoxicating You - Neville Fitzgerald. Nev I know your gonna read this, your back on form mate, one of your best we thinks!!!!Love the track and the dance flows lovely, very classy dance ( must have been choreographed with us in mind) lol.64 count 2 wall Intermediate no tags or restarts, music is Step Into My World by Jennifer Lopez. Can well recommend this one!! Got A Hold A new one from Stacie White, choreographed to Caught Up by Usher. As you may tell from the track she has chosen, it is a Funky, Street Dancing style dance. Get your baggy trousers and your woolly hat on and give this one a go. We did!! and must admit we did enjoy it the more we did it. No way can we do it as good as Stacie but we had a good laugh. Well choreographed to the music .32 count 4 wall Intermediate with 1 restart........go for it!! Kool Wid A K Well this was a bit of a nightmare to learn, tried it out last week but the step sheet was wrong! The second section of 8 were impossible to do . I went to all the usual sites but they were all the same including M.I.L. I emailed Big Dave as I know he has taught it, he confirmed that the sheet is wrong and told me what they should be. I have amended the step sheet on my website, but please check with someone if you know they have done the dance. I find is very strange that no one has picked up on this before? not a mention on the LDUK list! Has no one else done this dance?. Anyway ,we tried it again last night it took a while to get to grips with the step sheet but we managed it in the end.48 count 4 wall funky dance done to Baby I'm Back by Baby Bash & Akon, no tags or restarts. Quite liked it in the end, fits very well to the music, if you like funky then you should like this one.........just hope we have done it right :). Holla We tried out Holla this week, great little funky dance by Alana Johanson & Michelle Jackson. It's a 2 wall phased dance, step sheet say's it's advanced but it is not that difficult. ABAABAAAAB, B being the chorus when she sings Holla so it is quite easy to tell what part you should be doing, both A & B are 32 counts, A has some great travelling knee rolls, and I just love part B. The track is by Trin-i-tee 5-7 and the dance and music fit very well together. If you want to see what is should look like I have a link on my links page or you can view it at www.countryedge.com Get It On Seems like we haven't done one of Rob Fowlers dances for a long time, but saw this one at Frankie Cull's social a week or so ago, he was doing a quick walk through so we decided to have a little go. Frank also taught it at the Coventry Weekend so we got to learn it properly. Very nice dance, no tags or restarts only 32 counts done to "Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye" good track! like this one very much. Firedance Maggie G. Liked the music for this one, "Firedance by Princesses of Violins" 32 count 4 wall Intermediate dance with 2 restarts. Fits very well to the music, lovely to watch. There is a tricky bit in the middle which I must say I had trouble with ( nobody else just me!!) the others laughed they said I looked as though I was throwing a tantrum lol, must practice more! Update.........it's great I can do it now !!!!! Ready 2 Ride Peter Metelnick & Alison Biggs. Music is "Are You Ready To Ride by Sarah Connor" 32 count 4 wall Intermediate, no tags or restarts, has the usual vines, ball cross, monterey turns etc average sort of dance, good track! Switch-A-Roo Quite a funky one from Shaz Walton, music is Will Smith - Switch. 32 count 4 wall Inter/Adv with 2 restarts. The baggy trousers need to come out again for this one lol, good little dance , though the music can go on a bit. Less Is More Choreographed by Mark Furnell to "Less Is More" by Joss Stone. Excellent track! 32 count 4 wall Int/ Adv no tags or restarts. Really liked this one straight away, and................it doesn't start with walk walk!! that's a bonus I might be able to remember which dance I am doing lol).Very nice combination of steps. Thumbs up for this one! Inspector G - Mark Cook. We always liked this dance so we decided to go over it again. It was danced locally but never got picked up on by the rest of the country. Great dance and should have done better really. Hopefully someone will read this and pick up on it!. Choreographed to Inpector Gadget by Five 48 count 4 wall Intermediate dance with no tags or restarts, ( don't think we had them in those days lol) only joking it's not that old. Wat Da Fuss - Neville Fitzgerald. I get fed up with reviewing his dances, I have to say the same old things over again, great track great dance etc, it's getting boreing lol. 32 count 4 wall Line Dance choreographed to Stevie Wonders new one. There is one bonus there are no tags or restarts. He somehow he manages to make the dances feel different even though you are doing all the usual steps? A little quirky bit in the middle that you will need to give a bit of attitude, we had quite a laugh with this bit, decided Maria did it best so we copied her. Don't Cha - Shaz Walton. We was very disappointed with this one from Shaz, usually we like her dances as she manages to do something a little bit different from the norm. We liked a couple of sections of the dance but overall we felt it was all a bit rushed.32 count 4 wall Intermediate with no tags or restarts choreographed to Don't Cha byThe Pussycat Dolls ft Buster Rhymes. Freek Like Me - Neville Fitzgerald. This one is done to the same track as Shaz Walton's Don't Cha. We really liked the track so we looked at Nev's dance , his one is 64 count 4 wall Int/Adv and a bit turny , but fitted the music well and wasn't so rushed, it reminded me a bit of Tic Toc Too. Let It Go - Robbie McGowan Hickie. Liked the music for this dance, the girls learnt it while I was on Holiday , they liked it........ so they taught it to me when I got back.64 count 4 wall no tags or restarts, choreographed to Cha Cha Cuba By Matt Bianco. Very nice flowing dance, looked good on the dance floor.
