College History ... Blackburn College first opened the doors of the Victoria building in May 1888. As part of its Centenary celebrations in 1988 the college produced a booklet commemorating 100 years of service to the Community of Blackburn, Darwen and East Lancashire. Written by Marian Hesketh, It highlights significant stages in the growth and development of the College from its foundation in May 1888 to the visit in 1988 by Prince Charles.
