Ok so what have I been up to since the last installment?
Well, there are some bodywork improvements. That bad rear wing is replaced and the 3/4 panel is all sorted.
I didn't get Van steels as they are hard to find. So I bought a set of Minor Developents steel wheels. These are Morris centres welded to modern Dunlop rims and give you 5.5J with an original look and the correct rim edge to run modern tyres without tubes. So I treated myself to a set of Falken tyres to go with them.
The back end was always a bit too high, so I dropped it with a lowering kit.
I'm about half way through fitting a complete polybush kit.
The heater has a fair chance of working now, with a new tap and hoses fitted. What a shame I cut the new hoses to match the old ones, which were the wrong length and the wrong way around. Time to get some more hose.....
Electronic ignition. Hooray! Boiled the old coil and blew up the old rotor arm with that fat new spark, but runs good now with new parts fitted.
Alternator conversion. No more winter crank handle action. Coil relocates to inner wing.
Electric washers. Now I can see where I'm going!
And most importantly of all, a fresh MOT certificate!
What's next?
Well I need to fit this bad boy so I can go around corners even faster (it's a front anti roll bar)
And I've had this in the shed for about 2 years so I'd better stick that on.
And this SU rebuild kit should really come out of the box at some point.
And this spin filter conversion isn't doing any good sitting here.
And I need a stereo. And a power socket for my phone charger. And some carpets. And a new water pump..... Should keep me busy for a while.
