About the set

The action of the play takes place in a seedy bar. It is off the main street, a place where you have to detour to get to. A place you go either before or after you've been someplace else. There is a path that runs around the raked area. The floor is dry earth. The walls are purple and green, like bruising on a corpse. There is a void in the wall that has been prepared to receive something, but you can't reach up to it. There are a lot of lights on scaffolding at stage-right, some of them have been in use for many years, helping to illuminate the stories and fantasies that the people in the bar have told.
