Summary

Haven't yet ridden the whole line, but what we saw was quite nice - simple and neat.

Site

Only saw Minehead, Dunster & Blue Anchor.

They also have Washford, Watchet, Doniford Halt, Williton, Stogumber, Crowcombe Heathfield & Bishops Lydeard which seems to be their main site.

Minehead is a sizable terminus station near the sea, Dunster is a small country station, and Blue Anchor is a two platform, small & neat station very close to the beach.

Ride

It's the longest in the land, but we only did two stops.  This was from Minehead to Blue Anchor - very flat and very straight.  Mainly single track with crossing points at some stations.

Engines

Only saw the two which pulled us, 80186 & 4160.

Leaving Minehead

Modern coaches, but at least they were all painted nicely in GWR cream & chocolate.  Various trucks, wagons, tankers & cranes at Minehead.

Engine Shed

Didn't see.

Museum

They have a few : Small ones at Blue Anchor and Watchet and a larger one at Bishops Lydeard.  The small ones are only open a few days a year.

Shop

Sizable at Minehead.

Catering

None seen.

Toilets

Basic.

Other Facilities

Many stations are located next to nice villages with a harbour or a beach.

Nice guide book with trackside view description.
