(With a little help from Daddy)
Hi,

Me and Mummy watching the Green Arrow. |
My name is David Poore, and I'm eleven years old. When I was younger I loved trains ! Luckily Mummy and Daddy liked them as well, so we often went out to see steam trains.
I'm a little older now, and I like Theme Parks more. Nevertheless we often still go and see Steam Railways. Here's my thoughts on all the Steam Railways I've visited since I was three and the things that are important to me.
Please note that it's many years since I've visited most of these railways, so things might have changed quite a lot. I hope the details were accurate for when we visited them, but Daddy & I can't always remember everything. As you will seem some of our last visits were a very long time ago now, so check out their web pages for latest details of facilities you might find.
Daddy took all the pictures you'll see. He's also scanned in much of my ticket collection.
I've given many different kinds of pretend awards to the Steam Railways. Why not see who won what ! Remember, it's quite a while since I visited some of them.

Daddy's Note : Please don't take our comments too seriously - they're just an indication of what we found on the day(s) we visited. As we keep emphasising, these visits were a long time ago. We don't pretend to have any status or authority. We don't pretend to be systematic or thorough. Equally we don't regularly visit places just to assess them. We simply go out for family trips, often when we find ourselves in that part of the country. Then, later, when we're playing on the computer, we might write up a few comments about what we remember. We might remember things wrongly. Equally, some of our visits were made many years ago now. Either way our comments are probably no longer representative of the facilities the railways now have. Why not go along and see for yourself.
