The Natural History Museum is a train ride and an underground train journeys away. It's a very big old looking building. When we got in, the first thing I saw were the bones of a giant Diplodocus. It was in the big hall in the centre of the building. There were lots of other bones there, some of which were of Dinosaurs. Then we went to the Dinosaur room. I saw the bones and models of my favourite dinosaurs, including a Triceratops, a Velocoraptor, an Allosaurous and a Baryonx. We also saw an animated model of three small dinosaurs eating a big dinosaur ! Next we looked at mammals. I saw lots of animals including a Duck Billed Platypus and an enormous Blue Whale. Then we had lunch, and after that we went to Creepy Crawlies and Ecology, both of which were a bit boring. Then we went to the Earth Galleries. We went on a giant escalator through the centre of the earth. We saw the earthquake room where everything wobbled like an earthquake. I didn't like it, but mummy and daddy had a go. Then we had a cup of tea, wondered around upstairs where daddy took some pictures of the Diplodocus and then we went home.
Building : Impressive Contents : Good Toilets : A few, but never far away. Clean. Cafe : Three, two small and one large restaurant where we had dinner and a cup of tea later. Shop : Three - Books, Toys and 'The Earth'. Mummy said they were very expensive. Crowds : Pretty good, but then we did go on a school day because my school was closed. Best Bit : The dinosaurs ! Worst Bit : Upstairs
Dad Comments : All boys love dinosaurs don't they ? However don't expect too much excitement from the rest of the museum |
