In what looks like a converted furniture shop on the edge of Nottingham town centre is "The Tales of Robin Hood".  It looks like a big shop until you notice another door to the side where you buy your tickets.  Daddy said it was quite expensive.

You go into a waiting area which is like being outside a Castle door.  Somebody tells you that the ticket you bought is also a quiz and you have to look for the questions.

You then start the 'tour'.  The first room sends you 'back in time' and into the forest.  You then start in a tavern, where the barman tells you of the tales of Robin Hood.  When the sheriffs men arrive you are rushed into the underground tunnels, but you are met by Guy of Gisbourne.

Escaping him you get on the 'ride' portion, which takes you through various scenes, out of the castle and into the forest.  A narration follows the tour.  You sit in a little two person car (I squeezed in between Mummy & Daddy) which hangs from the ceiling.

Most of the figures seem to be made of paper mashe and the narration links the scenes together in a sort of story.  There were loads of fun things to look at.

The ride ends with King Richard returning from the Crusades.  You then get off the car and go through a few more rooms with static displays and pictures.

You can then go upstairs where there are a few more things to look at.  I liked the machine that squashed the penny.  There was a man with a falcon on his wrist, and Daddy and Jane had a go at archery (Jane won !).  There was also a slide show about trying to track down the real Robin Hood.  It was boring.

You then go back down stairs through the shop and out.  It was all over in about an hour.  Daddy said it was good, but quite expensive.

Building : Converted 1970's large shop !

Contents : Good but pricey.

Toilets : OK

Cafe : Not tried, but had very large video screen showing Disney's Robin Hood.

Shop : Good, not too tacky.

Crowds : Good.  Not enough to be crowded, enough to make you feel you weren't the only one there.

Best Bit : Ride, Penny squashing machine & Archery.

Worst Bit : Rest of upstairs

Dad's Comment : Unusual.  Surprised my son liked it so much.
