Welcome to the web pages of St Birinus Mission, Calcot
St. Birinus Church used to be in it's own parish on the western edge of Reading in Berkshire.
From October 1st 2007 a new Parish was formed - "The Parish of Tilehurst - St.Catherine and Calcot - St.Birinus". Some parts of the former parish were combined with the adjoining parishes of St.Matthew's and St.Michael's. (Click here for details)
Moving forward in the spirit of St.Birinus there is a "St.Birinus Mission Initiative" in which we are exploring how to be a Christian Community in new ways.
To this end we hold "Meeting Point", on the 2nd Sunday of the month at Dunelm Mills Cafe. Click here for details
We are also looking at development of the St.Birinus building to better serve the community. To this end :-
The church building for the parish is now St Catherine of Siena. Click here for details.
In the spirit of unity and support in the parish the three churches St.Catherine's, Cornwell Community Church and St.Birinus Mission join together regularly to worship as one.

We hope these pages will tell you a little more about the Church - both the people and the buildings.
Our parish purpose is: -
“To worship God and show Jesus’ love makes a difference in reaching, serving and caring”.
We try and measure everything we do against this statement.
