Autumn Cruise 2004

Street's
Ahead

Philip Street, Paul Huggins, Mark Guilford, David Peachey, Ian Huggins and Simon Huggins were on board the Endeavour for the week from Saturday 4th September until Sunday 12th September.

The route was to start from Endeavour’s base at Heritage Narrowboats, Scholar Green, near Stoke and travel south on the Macclesfield Canal to join the Trent & Mersey passing through the Harcastle Tunnel. Up ahead was Stoke-on-Trent where the pot works still line the canal which climbs up a flight of locks to Etruria and the flint mill stuck in to the angle made by the arrival of the Caldon Canal. This canal is a mere 17½ miles long.

On joining the main line we continue south to pass the Wedgwood factory & museum at Barlaston before winding close to Great Haywood junction, returning to the Heritage base.
