Patent and Patent Applications

Cogent's funding has to date produced 30 independent patent families. The total portfolio which Cogent has handled now stands at over 300 patents, including overseas filings, many of which have already been assigned or licensed to international companies, some examples of which are listed below. Our experience has shown that, to date, the most fruitful opportunities have been in the biotechnology area although we have also been successful in the sensors and instrumentation field.
