Modification to allow the Seat Hump to fit with

Givi Sport Rack

Home

Below is a shot showing the Givi Sport Rack fitted and the Modified seat hump in place.

This is a useful modification for those (like me) who usually ride alone but often carry luggage.

The way I achieved the cut-out was to cut a piece of card to the shape of one side of the

un-modified hump, complete with the "tongues" to locate into the seat cowl.

I then cut holes where I thought was right and tried the cardboard template in place and trimmed the card to fit around the rack perfectly.

Next I taped the card to the hump using the "tongues" for alignment and scribed the cutout

onto the plastic, then made the cut. I got the rough shape with a tank cutter and trimmed it

with a sharp new Stanley knife blade to achieve the profile required.

Don't be tempted to cut the hump too tightly around the rack tubes or you'll have

great difficulty getting the hump on and off. Use the same template on the other side

of the hump but with the opposite side of the card outwards.

Tape a small zip seal bag inside the hump to store the three blanking parts

which are used if the hump is taken off.
