Annual General Ride-Out Macclesfield 10th-12th May

Line up outside the Travel Inn, 2 VFRs deep!!!

Over 60 VFRs turned up on a beautiful sunny Friday in Macclesfield, for the first meeting of the owners club. There were riders from as far away as Scotland and the South Coast. Some with pillions. There were examples of most of the VFR models including a VFR400 a couple of 750's and a V-Tec or two.  The biggest group represented was the pre-V-Tec 800Fi models. The membership consists of all types and ages of people, from those in their 20s to those well over half a centaury old.

Very few owners fall into the pipe and slippers stereotype that people often like to associate with VFR owners.

Most of the people had never met before except in virtual space on the owners club web site at: http://www.hondavfrclub.org

The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and friendship and people soon got to know each other over food and the odd drink in the Brewers Fayre. There were some ride-outs planned to take in some breathtaking scenery and roads to push your abilities. Included was a stop at the famous Cat & Fiddle Pub on the Buxton to Macclesfield road.

The ride-outs were lead by experienced riders who knew the local roads and could conduct the rideout safely.

Fantastic scenery was enjoyed by all but sadly only a few photographs were taken due to the fact that we were all much too busy enjoying the ride!

It's a credit to all those who led and planned the ride-outs that there were no accidents and everyone safely returned to the travel inn on Saturday evening feeling tired but exhilarated.

A closer look at some of the bikes.

Beast's modified 800Fi looking quite stunning with the polished swingarm and hub, chrome plated parts, eight spoke rear wheel with polished rims and Predator end can.

This one stood out from the crowd..

Six of the coolest looking VFR's (Mine's third from the left)........

Which then became the Magnificent Seven!!! (I'm in the middle)

Who said you can't do that with a VFR??? Click the link below to see the movie.

The Muppett Show

Note. This was on private land and under controlled conditions, Officer..

A very impressive Sea of VFRs in the morning sunshine.

Here's an interesting accessory for your VFR.

I meant the Orangutan!! (Sorry Jill).

THANK YOU.

Thanks must go to Wiz for setting up the website, to all staff at the Travel Inn and the Brewers Fayre Macclesfield who made us all welcome and to all the Club members who turned up and made this one of the best weekends ever, the memories of which will stay with us all for a long time..

ROLL ON AGRO 2003!!!!!!!!!!!
