New Community Facility for Stoughton

Purpose, benefits and planned activities

• a 'community heart' for Stoughton
• a modern and attractive building flexible enough to provide for many community activities throughout the day
• a pleasant social meeting place for all local people (without distinction of age, ability, sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions)
• affordable morning day care for local pre-school children
• after school activities for school children
• a day-time restaurant for all ages and a drop-in coffee bar for teenagers in the evenings
• education and real learning facilities for residents requiring such support
• day time activities and a luncheon club for older residents
• leisure and some indoor sports activities for residents
• amenities and facilities not currently available in the local area

Specific aims of the project are to offer:

• an attractive and welcoming appearance and ambience
• three flexible meeting rooms,
• office space - including an office for the Safer Guildford Partnership
• a hall for hire
• a well equipped kitchen and catering facilities
• space for social, educational and health care use
• storage space for regular users
• professional management and supervision
• financial integrity and independence

Guildford Borough Council have placed the following restrictions on hours of use:

• 08.00 - 23.00 on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive.
• 09.00 - 22.30 on Sundays, Bank and National holidays.
