124 - 128 Worplesdon Road, 08/P/00222, GU2 9RT.  Erection of a two storey retail unit (A1) with associated car parking following demolition of existing petrol filling station. [Registered 11/02/2008] Comments due by 04/03/2008.

In fact the 'petrol filling station' is a car wash, that has recently had approval (07/P/02431) to continue operation for another 2 years subject to conditions.

This application, for a larger retail unit to replace the car wash, is by the same developer, Longwood Developments, who had 07/P/02207 approved.  This is the first application to build anything specific on this area.  This is next door to an existing shop 'Jays' and flat at no. 128.

 

07/P/01382 124, 126 & 130 Worplesdon Rd, & 82 New Cross Road.  Erection of part two storey, part three storey block of 14 flats and single storey retail unit with associated parking, access and landscaping, following demolition of 124, 126 and 130 Worplesdon Road and 82 New Cross Road.  Application withdrawn 21/08/07

These plans were a revision to the 3-storey flats and parking previously approved in 2005 (04/P/01779), but now includes a a large retail unit in place of nos. 124 & 126 Worplesdon Road. All this surrounding an existing shop and flat at no. 128.   There are 15 parking spaces reserved for 14 apartments, which will generate parking on New Cross Road and possibly Worplesdon Road.

This application has been withdrawn, but the previous still stands.  There will no doubt be a further application.

(As amended by plans received 25/08/04)(as amended by plans received on the 15/11/04).  (Norman & Dawbarn Limited) [Registered 09/08/2004] - Approved 26/07/05.   Note: Does not include 'phase 2'.
