This campaign is ongoing but currently quiet in Stoughton, but lively elsewhere owing to plans to build large quantities of houses in Burpham and Slyfield areas.

The campaign is to stop Surrey County Council's proposal to build 3 developments of 2,000 houses each, in Guildford Green Belt.  The actual number of houses is supposed to be nearer to 7,600.

SCA is particularly concerned at the original proposal to build on land north and west of Stoughton as this would have a major impact on the already struggling infrastructure.  Surrey County Council (SCC) have said that any development would not offer any major improvements or changes to the existing road infrastructure.

SCA is working with other local community and action groups.
