In this newsletter, we continue to keep you informed of the latest planning applications and ask you to lodge your objections.  Not only does your objection count, but it also encourages local residents and shows their community cares, as well as letting the council know we care.

PLANNING
» New Cross Road and Worplesdon Rd 07/P/01382

This is a revised application to one approved in 2005 to build a 3-storey block of flats with 14 parking spaces f
ollowing demolition 130 Worplesdon Road and 82 New Cross Road.  The revised plans include a large retail unit in place of nos. 124 & 126 Worplesdon Road.  More details can be found on the SCA web-site here.

URGENT: Deadline for objections is 3rd August.

Grounds for objection:

* Overlooking.  Existing properties will be overlooked.
* Visual amenity.  Large retail store will replace the open space character of the corner area.
* Parking. 15 spaces for 14 apartments is too few.

Stoughton Grange School Site ~ Carebase Residential Home

Carebase won approval to build 16 care apartments and a 50-bed care home similar to the one they own on QE Park.

In the long period leading up to the the council's approval of these plans, SCA worked hard to negotiate a number of agreements with Carebase.  The council accepted many of these, but felt that some were unenforceable and refused to include them in their s106 legal agreement with the developers - you may have read letters in the Surrey Advertiser about this. Nevertheless, SCA hopes that Carebase will continue to honour its agreements.
