The most comprehensive book on Stoughton History is "Stoughton, Guildford People and Places" written and published by Anne Sankey (2nd edition 1993) to raise money for the Emmanuel Church building projects.  You may be lucky to still be able to purchase a copy via Amazon, or from Emmanuel Church or direct from the author herself.  This book refers to a number of other sources some available in Emmanuel Church Records, all out of print.

  • "The Story of Stoughton by Pen and Camera" by Rev. H.J. Burkitt (Biddle and Shippam, 1910)
