The most comprehensive book on Stoughton History is "Stoughton, Guildford People and Places" written and published by Anne Sankey (2^nd edition 1993) to raise money for the Emmanuel Church building projects.  You may be lucky to still be able to purchase a copy via Amazon, or from Emmanuel Church or direct from the author herself.  This book refers to a number of other sources some available in Emmanuel Church Records, all out of print.
