Stoughton Communities

SCA can help set up clubs, if you and friends, young or old, are interested.  Or if you just want to know what other clubs or classes are going on in the area.  Or if you already know anyone that would like to advertise for free through our web-site, which is easily found on google!  Just let us know.

The following clubs are being setup:

  • 'Knit, Natter and Craft'  - Friday evenings from 7.30 pm at Maureen's home 27 Bryanstone Avenue, GU2 9UN

  • Digital Photography - we have a volunteer to teach this

We have people interested in taking part in the following if anyone wishes to help set up a club:

  • Card making

  • Jewellery making - beading, wire, polyclay, etc.

  • Book club

  • Film club

If you want to join or help please DON'T HESITATE, send an email to social@stoughtonca.org or phone Maureen on (01483) 570275.

  • 'Friends of Stoughton'

If you know any elderly person who perhaps has no family nearby and you feel would benefit from having more contact outside of their homes then please let us know. Secondly, if you would like to help, one Sunday afternoon a month, by driving elderly people to a volunteer’s home for tea, cakes and chat, and thus help combat the loneliness they can so often feel.

As you know SCA is a Charity with the main objective to make Stoughton a better place in which to live, therefore we wish to establish ‘Friends of Stoughton’. This simple idea, successful elsewhere, is about arranging a monthly afternoon tea in the home of another Stoughton resident. Unfortunately doctors, the police and Social Services are unable to tell us who we should be contacting because of the Data Protection Act. With your help, perhaps we can solve this problem.

Please, either email Maureen on mdhbell@talk21.com or telephone me on 01483 570 275, and let her know at the earliest if you know anyone this proposal will benefit and also if you yourself are willing to help as a driver or to host a tea party  - please see Stoughton Activities News Flash April 2008.
