Our founder and musical director is Glenn Chaney. Glenn has been in Barbershop for over 25 years. Initially singing with men’s choruses and progressing to directing a school chorus at Arnold Hill Comprehensive School in Arnold, Nottingham.

| From those beginnings Glenn
became the founder director of The Lace City Singers Nottingham’s prestigious lady’s barbershop chorus and Sweet Adeline’s UK 2004 Gold Medallists. This is our sister chorus and several of the Major Oak Chorus are partners of Lace City Singers’ members.

| Glenn’s gold medal winning direction with Lace City has earned him the status of the UK’s only Master Director within Sweet Adeline’s the international lady’s barbershop
organisation.

| Glenn
has previously directed the Lincoln BABS men’s chorus but we
are pleased that he has now started the Major Oak Chorus and
hope that he can do with us what he has with the Lace City Singers
since 1994!
