Convert from Centigrade to Fahrenheit in your head
- The Rule:
- To get the degrees Fahrenheit, double the degrees Centigrade (or
Celsius), subtract 10% and add 32.
- The Reasoning:
- Let a temperature of C degrees Centigrade be equivalent to F degrees
Fahrenheit. Then:
F = (9/5)C + 32
= (18/10)C + 32
= [(20 - 2)/10]C + 32
= (2 - 0.2)C + 32
= 2C - 10%(2C) + 32
