Mathematical Style at this Site

My policy is to ensure that the mathematical texts on this site are readable with any browser. The following substitutes will be used for unavailable symbols:

x multiplication sign blng 'belong(s) to'
^ superscripts (such as powers) iff 'if and only if' (as usual)
=/= not equal incls 'includes' (set inclusion)
<= less than or equals log[2] logarithm to the base 2
o small circle; subscript zero not blng 'do(es) not belong to'
--> tends to sqrt square root
==> implies Sum summation (capital sigma)
<--> one-to-one correspondence union set union
 Ao Aleph-zero
 oo symbol for infinity
 a1 a subscript 1

Happily, some mathematical articles and those on theoretical physics are now in PDF format, but some are still only in HTML format.
