Very strong and gusty winds and rain put paid to any big weights. Top bait was pinkie mainly, although Paul Hope had some decent stamp roach on caster. This match was fished on Frog lake because the river Roding was polluted in August 2003. Until it is re-stocked by the Environment Agency there is little point in fishing there.

Good weights considering it was extremely cold and quite windy. The average size of the carp seems to be in the region of 8 lb. Biggest one caught was a 12-8 common to Steve Blower ( pole and maggot). Maggot seemed to be the bait of the day,  Every carp was caught on this usually overlooked bait! Total weight 142-0. Brilliant for the time of year. Rob Shearing had some decent roach to 12 ounces on caster and waggler including a bonus 6 lb carp. Unfortunately the water level seems to be about 18'' below normal level. Rain needed please!

A Good match on a hot day. 101degrees (its official). Mainly carp to 14 lb (caught by Richard Thomson on pole and paste), a few bream, a lot of roach and some perch. No carp were caught on surface baits surprisingly. A lot of carp were lost also. A quick dip cooled some members off at the end of the match, just before the forecasted showers arrived about 5 o clock.

News of a 8-4 Tench and a 7-8 Bream have been reported from Church lane lake, Ockendon. No photos yet. The bridge at Frog lake has been renewed thanks to Pete Milano and his other half for all their hard work.

A new club record was achieved by Rob Smith who broke the old record by 15 ounces! Pole and bread was the tactics on a hot day that saw the carp feeding off the top. Dave Lewis had a notable catch comprising of all roach and rudd. pole fished shallow with caster and maggot fed constantly did the damage. Henry almost lost his pole when he turned away for a few seconds and a carp dragged it in. Luckily Henry just grabbed it in time.( didn't get the fish though!)
