1 Dave Moreland 41-0 2 Rob Smith 39-6 3 Colin Hope 9-10 4 Alan Goodey 4-7 5 Paul Hope 3-4
Paul Hope wins the points total over the season. Dave included a 16-10 common carp caught on pole. This just 'pips' Colin Hope to the 'biggest carp ' trophy. The lake suffered from a horrendous Easterly wind which made pole fishing difficult. The maximum depth was only about 2and a half foot. Surprisingly, no small fish showed at all. 13 fished. Match Results George Dear Memorial . Uptons lake. 19 Feb 06
1 Rob Smith 48-4 2 Gary Hope 20-8 3 Rose Moreland 10-0 4 Nick Quilter 8-8 5 Paul Hope 0-12 Juniors: 1 Jamie Smith 0-2-8 The day started of quite mild but soon turned windy and cold. As usual the top weights came from the willow tree and the brambles. Top weight was next to willow on far bank, and second place was from the willow on peg 11. Rose was next to brambles on peg 12 and nick was in peg 1. Paul hope has won the league with one match to spare by catching 1 rudd and 2 roach.. There is still a battle for second and third though. Next Sunday a match is to be held at Church lane due to a the super cup match clashing with the last venue of season.
This year's Angling Times/Van Den Eynde Supercup competition is to be held at Tylers common - Horseshoe lake. Match Results, River Roding Fur and Feather . 18 Dec 1 Steve Blower 0-0-8 2 Rich Thomson 0-0-4 Disappointing results for this match. 6 fished and only 2 caught (minnows). But on the plus side- a new cafe was found in Dagenham in Whalebone lane.(cafe Zone) Nice breakfast! Steve fished pinkie in a underrated swim for 3 minnows and Ricky fished in the 1st swim in the meadow for 1 minnow . After the match everyone went to the Woodman public house for the After match gathering. The hospitality was very welcoming .The Landlord kindly lent us a table and the beer was spot-on! The next match is the Roding cup. Somehow I don't think it will be that popular!
Match Results, Mystery venue . 27 Nov 05 The George Taylor memorial trophy Venue fished: Churchgate lake in Battlesbridge, Essex. 1 Steve Blower 9-4 2 Bernie Ogrady 4-6 3 Dave Barr 3-15 4 Gary Hope 1-1 5 Alan Goodey 1-0 6 Richard Thomson 0-14 7 Nick Quilter 0-8 8 Paul Hope 0-7 9 Rob Smith 0-0
This is the first time in 12 years that the mystery venue has been fished. The temperatures have been cold for a couple of weeks now and this reflected in the weights. However this is an excellent venue with first class facilities and three large well stocked lakes. The lake we fished had an abundance of features with 2 islands, marginal reeds and good depths up to 8 foot. Steve Blower continued his excellent form with another win. His catch comprised of 1 bream of 5-4, a roach of 1-0 and 2 ide and some small perch caught on caster and maggot. Bernie Ogrady had 1 bream on leger and meat. Dave barr had 1 bream on maggot. In summer the weights will be much improved and we are hoping to book it again for next year. 4 D.N.W.

Bernie and Rose also go through to the next round, as does Dave Barr. Rich Thomson had a lovely 14-0 mirror carp. The lake fished very well despite the conditions Plus the water level was low. Some rain is needed to improve the water levels.

A smashing complex of lakes with excellent facilities. A shop, Cafe, Toilets and good car parking close to the lakes. The hot weather affected sport with bream being the target species on the horseshoe lake. Paul did well fishing pole and corn over pellet for a net of about 11 or 12 bream. Average weight of bream was 3 pound. Given the right weather conditions then good weights are almost guaranteed.
