My real name is :Denise!!!!! My best footballing moment was Wembley at the Trophy Final, comingback from 2-1 down against Kettering......went through just about every emotion on that day. Worst footballing moment was turning up for a League Cup game in Sept '96 against Tilbury on a cold raining Tuesday night only to learn that the Manager had been sacked and the Captain had walked out in support of him! The game went ahead in front of a meager 150 crowd, luckily we won 2-1 Funniest footballing experience Turning up at Cheltenham for theTrophy semi-final last year and, on entering the ground I tried to buy a programme but before I knew it I was out cold.......hit from behind by a Neil Grayson practice shot. I spent the first 15 minutes of the game in the St John's first aid cabin on the treatment bed. (Ouch! - SD) Best current player Colin Luckett, as he has been with the club since the Ryman days and beat all the critics who said that he wouldn't be up to Conference standards, rarely lets the side down. Best past player David Leworthy, as his goals in the 97-98 season got us into the Conference and still doing the business for Havant+Waterlooville The team this year? No Comment!! My teams manager? Geoff Chapple......ask yourself! (Where would I start? He was simply, the best - SD) Fave Non league ground Has to be Nene Park, absolutely stunning.....not just the ground itself but the security , the catering staff , the cleanliness, and the hospitality of all that we met on our visit there was second to none ! Worst Non League ground Hendon when we visited in '96 ....not just the ground itself ,but the security, catering staff, the cleanliness and the hospitality were absolutely s***! Best Goal Geoff Pitcher’s free kick in the dying minutes of our game at Gravesend and Northfleet back in March '98 which won us the game and put us in the top spot of the Ryman League, which is where we stayed for the rest of the season........ |
