Old Latymerians 0 - 4 Old Parkonians (Southern Amateur League)
Old Latymerians 0 - 6 Old Parkonians (Southern Amateur League)

Having turned up for the game unfashionably early (Cheers TC, I thought Trevor's meet times were early!!) the game still kicked off late. With 12 pitches to chose from in the middle of Gunnersbury Park, the home side decided to pick the one that was the most bumpy, dangerous and puddly. So, after much deliberating and net moving the game commenced. In real tricky conditions which brought everyone's first touch to Knapman's level their was no time for pretty football. With the wind behind them Parks constantly pressured the home side without really threatening. It took a deep inswinging Mason cross which the keeper kindly punched in to start the goalscoring off. With only a one goal lead and with a strong wind against Parks had to defend stoutly with Nicholls, Kenny and Billingham proving to be an impenetrable barrier. With the added 'Road Runner' like pace of Sharkey, Parks scored a vital second on the break as Sharkey 'Beep Beeped' his way past two defenders to finish smartly after a neat through ball from Parmenter. With Parks solid midfield trio of Jameson, Collins and sub Keogh Parks grabbed a quick third when once again Sharkey outran the Latymerian defence to slot home. Having decided that route one was the best option Parks got a deserved fourth goal when Sharkey set up strike partner Parmenter to finish from close range. 4-0 Routine!

After scoring 7 and 4 last week Parks again proved to be the kings of double headers with a stroll in the second game. After some outrageous remarks from some mad Scottish bloke that Latymer would beat us 4-0 in the second game it didn't take long for Parks to go into a quick lead. With the ball bouncing loose in the box from another pinpoint Mason cross, Knapman managed to wriggle away from the keeper and square for Kenny to put into an empty net. The Sharkey show took over for the next 15 minutes as he scored a hat-trick of similar goals all taken with unerring accuracy (Feed the Shark and he will score!!). The delirious Scotsman became strangely quiet. With Latymer more or less giving up Parks actually began to try and pass the ball on a pitch that was bumpier than Shaun Goaters head. Rowson and Keogh began to link well down the left flank and Keogh's pass found Chadwick who found the net for number 5. And just for good measure Parks got a sixth when Sharkey squared for Chadwick to score his second from inside the six yard box. 6-0 Routine!
