On Thursday night (16.09) a whacking great spanner was thrown in the works of Bilbao’s new season plans as Top Scorer Denny Nicholls broke his ankle after landing aukwardly after heading the ball. Denny was by far our top scorer last year netting 36 times including 6 in one game against Hersham Royals. This injury will be a huge blow to our early season hopes.

After being taken by Jonesy to St Peters A&E ward in Chertsey, Denny was placed in an air cast and given the bad news that he won’t play again this year and is looking at a 3 to 4 month absence. Denny joins Carl Rose and Ben 'Kyd' Tancell in the long term injury list.

We wish Denny all the best in his recovery, while resting our ears from his constant self-proclaimed accolades. We hope to see him at some of the games. Were sure Phil will do his best while looking after his partner.

An injury update from 17.10 is that Denny has had his moon boot removed and is expecting to be able to play again in 6-8 weeks. He has already placed the bet that he will outscore Phil at the end of the season!
