Get crafty!

PAPER Paradise, on Cromwell Road, Grimsby, is holding a number of demonstration days which will benefit the Pink Rose Appeal.

From 10am on Saturday, May 26, LYNN OF ELUSIVE IMAGES will be showing off various techniques and mediums on 'stampbord' and other surfaces, using a range of beautiful unmounted stamps.

On Saturday, June 9, again from 10am, Paper Paradise will be hosting a DABBLE DAY. At this fun event, participants will be persuaded to part with their cash for the appeal in exchange for making cards, ATCs and other goodies on our 'make and take' demonstration tables.

You can grab yourself some great items at the forthcoming PINK ROSE APPEAL CRAFT AUCTION at Littlefields, on Littlefield Lane, Grimsby, on Tuesday, June 12. The event, running from 7pm to 11pm, will see many fantastic donations go under the hammer, including: a signed and decorated shirt donated by the one and only TIM HOLTZ of Ranger Ink; a Sizzix machine; a Silent Setter; a signed copy of ‘Layers’, the brand new book by SHARI CARROLL of Hero Arts; 8” Basic Grey Sublime Scrapbook; Rubber Stamps; Card and Paper; Beautiful framed decoupage picture; a genuine leather wallet hand painted by VICKIE RHODES (Australian folk artist); A Paper Trimmer; Glass painting kit; 12” scrapbooks; Craft tote bag; a copy of ‘The Art of Paper Collage’ signed by SUSAN PICKERING ROTHAMEL; and lots, lots more. This will be a fun night with a few surprises thrown in! Admission costs £1, which will provide you with a ticket for the raffle.

And if this isn't enough crafty fun for you, then get involved in the FUNDRAISING FINALE WITH LIZA on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1. This will be a full weekend of crafting with the wonderful Liza Rukas, who is often seen on TV and has hosted craft workshops on cruise liners. The crafty fun will include of various activities, such as make and takes, workshops and demonstrations - and all of the proceeds will go to the appeal. This is a very generous offer from Liza, her helpers and ‘CRAFTIME’.

Chocolate and music will make the perfect evening!

LOUTH fundraisers Lisa Wilkinson and Andrea Larsen are holding a unique evening of fun at Louth Town Hall called the Chocolate Extravaganza. This enticing event will feature a chocolate raffle and brilliant 1950s rock'n'roll music from popular band Three Parts Cut. And if that's not enough to tempt your musical tastebuds, there will also be a disco and karaoke. Top prizes in the raffle include a VIP pass for two to the Cadwell Park racecourse on August bank holiday weekend, kindly provided by Suzuki. Also up for grabs will be a two-night cruise to Amsterdam, an iPod music player and a portable TV.

The event will be held on Friday, May 11, from 7.30pm. Tickets for the evening include a buffet dinner, a trip to the chocolate fountain and a glass of wine. They can be purchased from the Louth Leader (where Lisa and Andrea work) on (01507) 617400.


Take a chance at our Casino Fun Night

Ever fancied your chances at Black Jack or Roulette? Well now's your chance as the Leaking Boot pub in Cleethorpes is ready to host a Casino Fun Night.

Skip firm gives a left to Pink Rose funds

The Pink Skip Co, a company formed by women for women, has offered its support to The Pink Rose Appeal by donating £5 to the charity from every skip ordered.

Feel great with help from the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Ladybird Club

Come along to the Cleethorpes Memorial Hall on Sunday May 20th for a special day health and beauty. A variety of therapists will be offering treatment taster sessions for a small charge - and you can even mix in a dose of retail therapy while you are there!

Refreshments and a raffle will also be available - so this will be the ideal place to have fun and improve your health and wellbeing.

Place a bid for this great bike!

Thanks to a generous donation, this Ammaco Blast boys/gents mountain bike (brand new and unused) will go to the highest bidder - with the proceeds helping the appeal. This silver/blue bike has 24 gears, 24" alloy wheels, high power alloy V brakes and full suspension. It retails at around £150.

Rat Pack Legends

Locally-born star of the West End's ‘Rat Pack’, GARY WILLIAMS, will be in cabaret for us at the Beachcomber, Humberston, on Friday 23rd March 2007 from 8pm with local act Regency Music. The event will feature all your favourites of Frank, Dean and Sammy - such as My Way, That's Life, and Come Fly With Me. There will also be a raffle, in which you could win a holiday at Honey Cottage in Devon. Artie White Golf Day

The Artie White is hosting a Charity Golf Day, sponsored by Natwest bank and T Diable Roofing Ltd, on Friday 11th May 2007. This great event will be held at Cleethorpes Golf Club, and it has a prize fund of £650 - so it's well worth a go! Teams of four will be charged £100 entry. Naturally, all proceeds will go to the Pink Rose Appeal, and the entry price includes a fish & chips supper. Tee & hole sponsored are required. Yarborough Ladies Choir spring concert

The Yarborough Ladies Choir is to perform a spring concert at Grimsby Town Hall. The choir will sing under the conduction of Edna Allenby, with accompaniment from pianist David Moore, on Thursday 1st March. Supporting the ladies will be the Centa Stage Theatre Company and compere Brian Smith. Tickets for the concert cost £5 including refreshments. Dress up and take part in the Pink Rose Appeal Walk

Come along and join an evening stroll under the moonlight on Saturday 14th April - and if you're an adult, we'll expect you to be dressing up to highlight the cause! The aim of the night is, of course, to raise money - but having fun is also a priority. Anyone can enter, at a cost of £5 for adults or £2.50 for children under 16. Participants should arrive at 7.15pm for an 8pm start, at the Boating Lake Paddock, in Cleethorpes.

The Artie White Foundation presents an evening of Motown Mania, featuring The Gillettes, Sensational Drifters, and a disco. Discount on your MOT

If you have a Pink Rose Appeal leaflet or other document (such as tickets for the Gary Williams concert), then you can get your car MOT'd for £37 (normal price £50) at the Grimsby Car Centre, Celerity House, Charlton Street, Grimsby, and £5 will be donated to the appeal.
