Reminiscing about a trip to Plymouth in the FA Cup:
My Missus and I went to the first game as part of at least 16 official 'Roadriders'. Police were sp concerned at the possibility of trouble that they kept a wary eye out on our progress at virtually every flyover from Birmingham onwards.
We were not allowed to stop at any service stations once we got within 50 miles of Plymouth and were told by the Police that they had arranged toilets for us en route. Eventually the Police escort ushered us in to a field where someone had nailed two huge posts in to the ground ,stretched between them was a length of black material and gentleman wanting to use the the toilet were invited to stand behind the material and do their business (police obviously assumed nobody wanted a no 2)
Women were escorted by the cops to nearby private houses and offered the use of residents facilities.
On the match itself - I don't think we would have made it to a replay without Steve Cherry and I think people still to easily forget about his contribution to the first match .
Happy memories.
