Welcome to Part 6
and 2007 the year that saw that dramatic play off final at the 'new' Wembley
and the return to Premier League football for the Rams under Billy Davies
2007 Play Off Final- This kit was a one off by Joma and was a neat design that
will go down in history
shown here by Steve Pearson who is now a legend for 'that' goal.
NEW KIT FOR 2007-08 - IN TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE
The promotion to the Premier League came with much anticipation, especially as we were getting a 'real' kit manufacturer on board in the form of adidas.
Sadly the new kit(s) will remain as a testament to our poor season back in the big time. But also it will be etched on the minds of many as a symbol of the fantastic support shown by the rams fans week in week out despite the team on the pitch being dubbed as one of the worst in living memory. Even Billy Davies leaving and Paul Jewell coming in, did little to change the fortunes - and of course there was that controversial signing of Robbie Savage!
Also the Ram was treated to a new logo - the 'snorting' Ram stayed but was encompassed in a roundel
2007-08 Home
Matt
Oakley shows the home shirt with black shorts -bears the usual trademark three
stripes with a thin line details on the shirt and shorts. This design was
actually a stock adidas team design to which logos etc were added.
2007-08 Home - white shorts
Stephen
Pearson who sadly didn't seem to make it in the prem after his great play off
final goal shows the same kit but with the white shorts variation.
2007-08 Away

Various Rams players show off the yellow away kit that has
a curved line running from the neck to the right and thick black trim on both
sides.
2007-08 Away
Macken,
Barnes and Miller show the Black Away kit, one that fans had wanted for some
time this is a good looking kit and had it been a successful season would no
doubt have gone down in history . Similar to the home kit it's not quite a
negative as the thin trim line is slightly different.
++++++++++++NEW FOR 2008-09 ++++++++++
Here it is the new 2008 -09 home kit includes new sponsor 'Bombardier' who are of course the internationally known
Derby based train maker.
Rammie
and new Rams players model the new kit
at first sight this kit looks good and is an improvement on last years kit. A lot more black than last year, difficult to comment on the material as I have not seen it 1st hand .
However, there is a sting in the tail ! It appears that this kit is not exclusively designed for the Rams but has been simply selected from the adidas catalogue. You can buy a complete strip from pro soccer for £25 as Steve's kit spies have discovered.
as we can see here although in blue it is very similar.
This is also the same with last years kit
So this means that fans are being charged an awful lot
extra for a Rams badge and a sponsors logo!
Any
way after saying all that Kris Commons in the Home Kit firing that goal past Man
U in the Carling Cup
09-09 2nd kit 2008 saw 2 away kits or 2nd and 3rd kits as
they are now called The first was bright fluorescent green, oddly the
'Bombardier' logo was in white making it difficult to see. This kit became known
affectionately as 'The Slime Green' Kit!
08-09 3rd Kit. Modelled by Rams
legend Archie Gemmill and Tito Villa. This is clearly based on the previous Rams
'umbro' kit from 1976. This can be seen on page 2 of the history. Seems to be a
hit with fans and definitely preferred to the 'slime green' kit.
