Craig Frost (Newbury Berkshire)
I was born in the year that Cloughie took us out of the second and in to the first Division. One of my earliest memories is that on Saturday afternoons my Dad used to disappear off to the football (yes the Mighty Rams despite living in enemy F*r*st territory) and was told that when I was old enough I could go too.
So in March 1976 I went to the BBG , sat in the A Stand paddock and fell in love with the Rams .We beat Norwich 3-1 or 3-2 and Bruce Rioch scored 2 and became my favourite player. My first recollection of standing in the Popside was watching Spurs get spanked 8-2 (the following year I think).
So having a Rams mad Dad, thats how I got my Christain name from the mercurial David CRAIG Mackay ! The best Derby signing ever according to my Dad. Thank f*ck I got Macs middle name otherwise I would have shared my name with a certain sunday breakfast tv presenter!
I'm really jealous of my Dad having seen Derby win Championships host those European nights under floodlights and see them win at Wembley (Charity Shield). The nearest I've got to it was the cr*ppy Anglo -Italian Cup a few seasons ago.
Now I thank god for the internet .When I was over in the States last xmas the DET Rams site kept me sane ! I don't think my American host was too impressed when I got up at 9am - not to make her breakfast but to listen to the Rams commentary on the web!
