Chris Elston(Lichfield)
I was born in Ipswich in 1974 ,me Dad from Kirk Hallam ,me mum from London.
My Dad hated Ipswich (and in particular Bobby Robson) so took me to Colchester each week from the ages of 4 to 6 when we moved to West Hallam.
From then on he obviously took me to the BBG each week .A couple of years later when my Brother was 6 he started coming as well, along with my Mother. Then to more away games. A spell with season tickets in the Ley Stand in front of Wheaty fortunately didn't put me off !
I missed a season and a half when at University in Lancaster (getting thrown out after a year- I mean invited not to go back!) That was great as far as watching the Rams goes ,but I've missed a handful (or two) of home games since 1980 bar that.
It was the atmosphere of being at games that got me hooked , not the games or the results. The sheer thrill of being there.
post script -My Dad apparently wanted to call me Charles George or Charlotte George if I was a girl , but it wasn't allowed .They settled on an unfashionably long name with ridiculous initials in the end so that was much better.
