Archie Douglas (Surrey)

How does a Surrey based Scot come to being a season ticket holder at PP?

Well it's simple:

First and foremost I get my footy loyalty from my Dad who is a lifelong Ayr United fan ,now retired and living back in Scotland and a s/t holder at his beloved Ayr,none of your Celtic /Rangers cr*p for him- good man.

At the age of four my parents moved from Ayreshire to the village of Newhall just outside Burton -on Trent. This was for work reason - as anyone familiar with the area will know this is very common ,coal mines being the work provider. He missed his footy and must have decided to try watching English football. Now he had a choice of teams in the area ie Derby, F*r*st, L**c*st*r Sh*tty or Brum sides.

Now Ayr United (in case you didn't know) play in exactly the same strip as the Mighty Rams. So at the age of five I remember being taken to the BBG for a night game, don't remember who else played but I remember the magic to this day...the floodlights.. the crowds....the noise ..even the smell! I was hooked.

Sadly my Dads' heart was not in it so I had to nag him for visits and go with friends of his until at about ten or eleven I started going on my own.

Popside then Ossie End and I've been a Ram ever since, no matter where I've lived. When I first lived in London a few mates took me to Spurs but it was just boring , no passion without the Rams on the pitch.

So there you have it , one Jock Surrey based Ram proud to be a sheep.

Also I'm putting forward a motion for us to be twinned with Ayr United in Scotland its the only way ! It seems Black and White to me !
