Andy Donaldson (Hucknall)

Living in Littleover, supporting the Rams should have been easy.....!

Dad went every week ,but it was not until 1967/68 aged 8 that I was allowed to go to the odd game in the boys corner. Friends at school seemed to think it strange I should be a Derby fan , there seemed to be a need to support the seasons' top team ,rather than the Rams.....(*Andy disproving the theory that Sky has created this phenomenon -the  Ed*)

I then spent 7 years in the garden of Eden, as I grew up with the Rams during their halcyon period, for which I make no apologies, just sit with my programmes and reflect from time to time (sad git eh!) away games were done with me and me Dad to start with (strange how he always got sick on a midweek Wednesday, but then so did most of Royce's and the Railway...!)

BTW do you remember when just about all midweek footy was on a Wednesday?

'75 saw me in the Army and a member of the International branch of the supporters club-and 16 years of distance supporting, but always making the trip home coincide with Rams footy. I remember leaving the 'Pink Coconut' with a friend in the early hours of one satdee suitably refreshed and catching a train to Birmingham, in me best clobber, to get there in time for the game at WBA - we walked from New Street - a bloody long way !

anyrode thats how i started this mad passion!
