Tom Butcher - Leicester
My story is similar to SMB'S - I haven't a clue! Neither of my parents were football fans and my Grandad was a Rangers and St Mirren Fan. I suppose growing up in Derby I just fell in to it- although I was never a regular football goer until my mid teens and even then I had a break of a few years when I went only occasionally as a student.
I do know I've always followed them and as i remember it everybody did - you just didn't get Man Utd Fans etc- I'm 32 tomorrow so maybe the Championship years were my formative football years
What has surprised me in reading these stories is how many of you started watching the Rams in what i call the post modern era - post relegation under Maxwell - or even post BBG (and even that in the later years was not what it was) then you did miss out on something - But at the same time you are lucky-because whenever I watch a match now I feel there is something missing- that excitement you used to get on a packed football terracing , especially under lights. Sometimes I wish I'd never known it ,then I'd never miss it.
I know all the arguments against terracing but I'd gladly have the popside back tomorrow and pay just about anything to stand on it again.........
