Angel - David Boreanze

Making his first appearance in Hollywood as Kelly Bundy's biker boyfriend on Married...with Children, David's television credits prior to Angel include a stint on Men Don't Lie and, of course, Buffy. Up until Angel, he had small roles in movies like Best of the Best II and Aspen Extreme. His first starring movie role was 2001's horror flick Valentine opposite Denise Richards and it's success was followed with the romantic comedy I'm With Lucy (2002) opposite Monica Potter and The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2004) with Edward Furlong, Tara Reid and Dennis Hopper. It is perhaps his theatre work that is the most detailed, having appeared in the productions Hateful of Rain, Italian-American Reconciliation, Fool for Love, and Cowboy Mouth. David's other credits include the voice of Squall "Leon" Leonhart in the cult-hit video game Kingdom Hearts, hosting Mad TV, presenting at the 2001 NHL Awards and 28th Annual American Music Awards. He recently took a stab at directing with the episode Soul Purpose on the fifth season of Angel. One of David's dogs, Bertha Blue (named after his favorite Grateful Dead Song), is responsible for David's success. While taking her for a walk in the park, a manager spotted him, dug his brooding and myterious look, and signed him on the spot. He started filming for Buffy the Vampire Slayer the very next day. The son of Philadelphia's news weatherman Dave Roberts, David Jr. is currently married to actress and former playboy bunny of the month (January 1999) Jaime Bergman whom he has a son with (Jaden Rayne, 2002).
* Birthday: May 16,1971 * Birthplace: Buffalo, New York. Grew up in Philadelphia * Born: David Patrick Boreanaz Jr. * Height: 6'1"
* Hair: dark brown and naturally wavy * Status: proud father.
"It was clear that Angel was the one character who is bigger than life in the same way that Buffy was. A kind of superhero. And I knew, as the dark, mysterious love interest, that he had the potential to be a breakout character. But I also knew he had the potential to go away after three episodes. But then we found David Boreanaz and he doesn't seem to be able to go away at all."
 Joss Whedon on the character Angel An Irish gentleman born in the early 1700s, Angelus was a ne'er-do-well who was more interested in drinking than in doing an honest day's work. On one such drunken binge, he encountered a vampire named Darla, who turned him into a vampire. Although he had never left his home of Galway as a human, as a vampire he traveled extensively. In England in 1860, he murdered the family of a woman named Drusilla, driving her mad before finally turning her into a vampire. In Romania in 1898, he killed the favorite daughter of a Romany tribe and was there after cursed by the tribes elders: they restored his soul to him, forcing him to live in anguish over the acts he had committed as a vampire. From that point on, Angel suffered. He drifted for many years, eventually winding up as a homeless person in a New York City alleyway in the 1990s. It was there that the demon whistler found him and encouraged him to make something of himself. He moved to California and decided he would help the slayer. Initially this help came in cryptic clues, but his growing feelings towards Buffy helped him to become closer to her, enabling him to help her even more. He eventually decides to leave Sunnydale as he knows his love for Buffy could destroy her. He ends up in LA where he opens a private investigations agency to help the innocent and meets up with Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter from BTVS) who becomes his (unpaid) secretary. He also comes across a "vision demon" called Doyle who points him to demonic attacks. Doyle ends up dead but before hand passes on his vision allergy to Cordelia. Eventually Angel becomes the owner of Wolfram and Harte. Check out the episode guide for more info.

Wesley - Alexis Denisof

Alexis was born American, but has lived and worked half his life in the UK. He boasts an extensive background in film and theatre (plus several credits as a fight director), and at one point, even worked with Anthony Stewart Head (Giles on Buffy) in a stage production of Rope. When he finished highschool, he moved to London and attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. When he finished there, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and started working in London on the West End. He also did movies all over Europe. Because the title character of Angel is nocturnal, many scenes are shot late at night. On Alexis' first day, David Boreanaz took a Polaroid of him in his chair with his head resting on his hand, sound asleep. Underneath the image David had written: "3:54am, day one, Angel." The photograph now rests on Alexis' mirror at work. Alexis' favorites include ice cream or toast, watching Becker on his telly, the movie Robin and Marian, soccer, world music, and Nirvana (what a surprise from a Seattle boy, eh?). Though he and Hannigan originally met on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer during the 1999-2000 season, the two didn't become an item right away. "Actually, I had a crush on him from the moment he showed up on set, and he was the good one who said, 'Not while we're working together...' blah blah blah, whatever," Hannigan once told E! Online. "So we became friends for a couple of years, and I was dating somebody else [Marilyn Manson drummer Ginger Fish], and when that didn't work out, he was on Angel and we just started dating. We had always had a very flirty relationship." He and Alyson were married late in 2003. * Birthday: February 25, 1966, * Birthplace: Salsburg, Maryland. Gunn - J. A. Richard

Jaime Augusto Richards (pronounced "Hai-may") was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. He began his television career on The Cosby Show at the age of 14 after a casting director noticed him at a summer camp. He followed that success up by being a member of the travelling cast of Chemapalooza, a Chemistry safety show. He went on to play "Stuey" on the "sitcom" Clueless and skipped around for a while on such shows as Diagnosis: Murder, The Good News, Players, Chicago Hope, Sliders, The Practice, The West Wing, Nash Bridges, Moesha, OP Center, The Temptations, Mutiny, and Running Mates before landing the role of Charles Gunn. Gunn first appeared in Series one as the leader of a gang fighting against vampires and teamed up with Angel. He then gradually became a member of Angel Investigations. Jaime has also appeared in the epic film Good Burger in 1997 and the 1998 romance Why Do Fools Fall In Love? He attributes a lot of his success to acting workshops he took under Eriq LaSalle and Michael Beach, the medical maniacs from ER and Third Watch, respectively.

Fred - Amy Acker

Amy Acker made her screen debut in To Serve and Protect as Melissa. Amy recieved her BFA in Acting from the Southern Methodist University in 1999 and has had an extensive background in theater. Apart from To Serve and Protect and Angel, she has also appeared on the kid's show Wishbone and films Groom Lake with William Shatner (you just know it's a sci-fi thing), The Accident and The Energy Specialist. When she's not working, Acker enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, horseback riding and learning to play golf. She relaxes by practicing yoga. Amy currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband James Carpinello. When Amy first auditioned for the role of Fred, the character was a little different - still eccentric and highly intelligent, but called Logan, and not stranded in Pylea. Despite Amy having worked to lose her Texas accent, Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt decided they wanted Fred to have the accent. Amy also wore her own glasses to the audition, and the ones that Fred wears in the show are exact copies. Amy is Winifred "Fred" Burkle, a perky and extremely intelligent young woman who was rescued from the dimension Pylea by the gang in the end of the second season and joined Angel Investigations as a full-time member in the third. Since her introduction, Fred has blossomed considerably from the shy and insecure girl-next door to the strong-minded head of the Practical Science Department of Wolfram & Hart and resident heartbreaker. Fred was originally a three-episode role, but after Amy shot some scenes with Alexis Denisof and J. August Richards, they offered her a regular role for Season 3.
* Birthday: December 5, 1976 * Birthplace: Dallas, Texas * Hair: brown * Height: 5"6 * Status: married

Lorne - Andy Hallet

Andy Hallett has played the karaoke-loving Lorne (also known as The Host and Krevlonswath of the Deathwok Clan) since the premiere of season two, but his character only became a full-time member of Angel Investigation early in the fourth. Lorne was the host of a now destroyed karaoke bar Caritas, a favorite hangout for demons and humans alike where one could have their destinies read in a rendition of Barry Manilow or The Supremes. An Anagogic demon, Lorne can read one's soul through their singing and give you pointers on your destiny. He now runs Wolfram & Hart's massive Entertainment Department, schmoozing with the likes of Judy Dench, Johnny Depp and...the Olsen Twins?
Andy started singing when Patti Labelle invited the then little boy on stage during a concert in Boston. After doing this unexpected duet, he discovered his love for music. Hallett worked as a runner for some agency and also as a property manager and personal assistant before his big break as 'The Host' . Joss Whedon created the character after seeing Andy sing at a Universal City blues revue. He was invited to try the part and got it right away. Hallett started to approach Fox Music for the realisation of a future CD. Joss Whedon and him talked about a ''Host'' CD, like the one we saw in ANGEL. Nothing is decided yet. Now, while returning on ANGEL for a fifth season, Andy is looking for other movie projects. He already appeared in the independant movie Chance, written and realized by Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy)
* Birthday: August 4th 1975 * Birthplace: Osterville, Massachussetts * Height: 6'2 * Hair: dark brown * Status: single but taken
Film Credits: * Chance (2002) Amber Benson's movie. He plays Jack, a night club singer. Co-starred: Amber Benson, James Marsters, Jeff Ricketts. * The Enforcers (2001) (miniseries) He plays Wallace. Co-starred: James Marsters, Jarrod Crawford, Tangi Miller, Michelle Trachtenberg.

Spike - James Masters

James Marsters attended the renowned performing institution Julliard and graduated from the American Conservatory Theatre. James started acting on the stage in various cities like New York, Chicago and Seattle. He then moved to Los Angeles to begin a career in TV and film. Prior to his Spike, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and now Angel, he appeared in series like Northern Exposure and Moloney. James was invited to audition for Buffy and was given a contract to appear on several episodes in the second season. But Joss Whedon, seeing the impact of his character on the fans, decided to insert him in the show on a more regular basis. James Marsters plays Spike who, like several members of Angel, was first introduced on the now-deceased Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He's been wearing the same black duster since his introduction in BtVS' second season episode School Hard. Spike (a.k.a William the Bloody) is a bad-ass vampire, spawn and lover of Drusilla and former protégé to the great Angelus. Spike fell in love with Buffy and sacrificed himself in the show's finale to close the Hellmouth - not for one moment thinking he'd be resurrected and given a new life and new friends in Los Angeles...with Angel. Marsters has appeared in a few independant movies. Chance was realized and written by co-star Amber Benson (Tara from BtVS). When not acting, James is the lead vocals and acoustic guitar player of the band Ghost Of The Robot. They released their first CD Mad Brilliant early in 2003.
