Blue Admiral - K916VDV

Iveco 59-12

Mellor B31D bodywork

Owned by: Working Omnibus Museum Project Ltd

Iveco 59-12 with Mellor B31F bodywork. Purchased by Blue Admiral in 1994, it was part of a large order placed by the Transit Holdings Group to replace the Ford Transits in Devon, Oxford and Portsmouth. These buses were built in dual door configuration to assist passenger flow. The Portsmouth operations were subsequently sold to First Provincial, following which this vehicle was rebuilt to conventional single door layout – in which form it operated until withdrawal in 2006. Sister vehicle L316BOD has been cannibalised for parts and are being used to restore K916VDV to its original dual door configuration.
