Portsmouth Corporation no.189 - DTP823

Leyland "Titan" PD1 built 1947

Weymann 56 Seat Double-Decker

Owned by: Working Omnibus Museum Project Ltd

This is an example of the first batch of buses received by the Corporation after the 2nd World War. It was operated in service until 1967 and on withdrawal was sold via a Warwickshire dealer to the Fire Service Training College at Moreton-in-Marsh. Following purchase for preservation, it has been stored at various locations before eventually arriving at CPPTD in 1995. Years of open storage caused it to suffer badly from vandals, but some restoration progress has been started. Unfortunately this has been disrupted by the move from Broad Street, but it is hoped to recommence work shortly.
