Date taken: Friday 5th July 2002 Location: Meroe, The Sudan.
Brief description: All of the pyramids at Meroe were
damaged by the Italian treasure hunter Ferlini. Having
found gold artifacts in one of the Pyramids, he proceeded
to plunder the rest of the site in vain. Since then teams
of archeologists are slowly restoring the site. This
photograph shows part of that restoration.
