Brief description: The Mausoleum was commissioned by the
10th Duke of Hamilton, also known as Il
Magnifico. With it's Cupola, bronze doors, which
incidentally modeled on the Baptistery in Florence, an
Octagonal chapel guarded by stone lions and an Egyptian
sarcophagus. The 10th Duke certainly earned the
title Il Magnifico.
