Cardoness Castle

Brief description: Standing on a rocky mound, Cardoness Castle is a ruinous late 15th-century rectangular keep. Cardoness passed to the MacCullochs by marriage around 1450. They were an unruly lot.

The castle is now under the management of Historic Scotland.
