Brief description: Built between 1659-1664 by the architect
Pieter Post.
It has majestic double staircase, the reason for this
being. The joint rule over the city by the Duke of Brabant
and the Prince-Bishop of Liege. Neither wanted to be seen
subserverant to the other, hence the double
staircase.
The tower dates from 1684 and contains a carillon with 49
bells.
