The 14th Brighton Girls' Brigade has been part of Florence Road Baptist Church for over 80 years and throughout that time has provided a safe place for girls and young women to meet, learn and have fun together We meet on a Monday night: Explorers: 5 to 8 years 6.00 to 7.30pm Juniors: 8 to 11 years 6.00 to 7.30pm Seniors: 11 to 14 years 7.00 to 9.00pm Brigaders: 14 years + 7.00 to 9.00pm Girls' Brigade is the largest church based organization for girls and today has members in over 60 countries around the world. Girls' Brigade believes that everyone is important to God and aims to help girls develop skills in 4 main areas of life:
Activities undertaken on a Monday night have recently included, cooking, astronomy, indoor hockey, video making, craft, Bible study, drama and parachute games. We also go to camp, put on shows and join with other GB members for local and national events. At the age of 14 there is also the opportunity to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and many 14th Brighton girls have gone onto achieve their Gold Award. At this age you can also take part in our Young Leaders Training Programme, which will enable you to help with the younger members of GB as well as give you skills for life in general.
